Can a Christian Lose Salvation?

There is no verse in the Bible that says:
“Once a person is saved they can never loose their salvation no matter how much they sin.”

Likewise, there is no verse that says:
“When a saved person sins they become lost unless and until they repent and confess their sin.”

This is just as well because the Bible is correctly interpreted by studying the meaning of passages of scripture in context, not by relying upon isolated verses or phrases.  On any question of meaning the best approach is to read, study and meditate on relevant passages, the entire book or the entire Bible, while honestly asking God to reveal His Truth to us through the Holy Spirit so we can believe and obey. “For the word of God is quick (living), and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  Heb 4:12

In the question of the nature of our salvation I believe two facts are apparent from a study of the New Testament:

1.   Salvation is a permanent relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ, not a temporary agreement with God based on our behavior. (i.e.salvation by works)
2.   Our behavior does not determine our salvation; instead our salvation determines our behavior.
